Call for Abstracts

The GESGB/HGS Africa conference has built a reputation for hosting high quality subsurface focused technical talks on activity in Africa.

The GESGB Africa Technical Committee invites you to submit an abstract for the London 2025 programme. We are looking for talks and posters that cover the subsurface of Africa and its role in supplying the global energy market as our theme for 2025 is “Maximizing African Opportunities in the New Energy Age“.

Submissions are welcome on all aspects of this broad theme with suggested topics including but not limited to: upcoming exploration wells, “teenage” fields status update, field development including re-development and near-field exploration, new technologies, state of the business including Africa’s position in global trends, alternative resources (Hydrogen, Helium & Geothermal), carbon capture and of course regional geological insights.

Your research could be featured on the agenda, giving you a platform to present your work to a global audience. You also have the opportunity to win one of the prestigious awards for technical excellence for the best oral, poster and student presentations.

This year we also have a limited number of speaker slots that can allow remote online presentation, but this is restricted to those with visa restrictions or financial challenges – please contact events@ges-gb.org.uk for further details.

Abstract submission deadline: Wednesday 30 April 2025
